POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager – Academic Programs is a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual who will partner with clinical leaders, talent acquisition, and academic institutions to provide programmatic support, planning, implementation, and execution of strategic academic priorities across practice sites. This pivotal role will have internal and external-facing interactions and will collaborate with clinical leaders, academic institutions, executive leaders, and internal teams to achieve the goals set forth as part of the Academic Operations Division. Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Operations, this person will work closely with academic institution leadership, the senior operations team and external stakeholders to carry out scale and grow USAP’s training footprint and align and grow strategic partnerships. The Manager – Academic Programs also helps with planning and coordinating conferences targeted toward trainees and program directors. The individual will provide leadership and vision to the team with a focus on support and engagement to further the Company’s academic workforce priorities and objectives. 

 

The base pay estimate for this role is $89,000 - $151,300 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on company and individual performance.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation) 
 
Business Operations 
Manages the P&L, financial forecasting, and analysis for the St. Joseph School of Nurse Anesthesia in coordination with the USAP financial teams and program leadership. Reviews and recommends opportunities to generate income and maintain and/or reduce expenses to keep division profitable. 
Identifies other revenue-generating activities for the division to grow and build upon our mission. 
 
Data Management & Reporting 
Continuous Improvement: Analyzes training data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and process efficiencies. Provides actionable insights to enhance program outcomes and workforce retention. 
Database Maintenance: Utilizes our propriety Prodigy tracking system and generates reports to track hiring metrics and conversion data for key relationships. 
Contractual Compliance: Regularly updates senior academic operations leadership on contract statuses, affiliation agreements, trainee data, and other critical program metrics. 
 
Program & Partnership Management 
Clinical Training Agreements: Executes, implements, oversees, and reports on clinical training enhanced affiliation agreements between clinical sites and academic institutions. Ensures all contractual obligations are met and aligned with organizational goals. 
Day-to-Day Programmatic Relationships: Manages day-to-day programmatic relationships with external stakeholders and internal USAP counterparts to solve issues in a timely and comprehensive manner. 
Internal Collaboration: Partners with clinical leadership, talent acquisition, HR, and academic teams to ensure alignment on training goals and trainee conversion strategies. 
Problem Solving: Acts as a dedicated problem solver to address any challenges or roadblocks that may arise in the execution of the strategic and operational priorities of the Academic Operations Division. Offers solutions to enhance business operations and identify new opportunities. 
 
Additional Duties 
Some travel is required for conferences, meetings, and site visits. 
The Academic Operations Division is growing, and additional projects and priorities may be assigned on an as-needed basis. 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs): 
 
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent 3-5 years’ experience. Master’s degree preferred. 
Experience in academic healthcare is highly desired. 
1-3 years of hospital-based healthcare experience. 
Experience with managing contracts and/or grants. 
2-4 years of financial or P&L management experience required. 
2+ years of people management and project management experience preferred.  
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to communicate to a diverse population of leaders, peers, and external stakeholders. 
Strong organizational skills. 
Skill in gathering and reporting information with the ability to manage a variety of projects. 
Ability to maintain confidentiality. 
Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and external customers. 
Strong leadership and facilitation skills with clear ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including executives. 
Has abilities associated with problem identification; reasoning; ability to work with business units in the development ideas to solve staffing issues. 
Demonstrated ability to manage time and multiple projects/activities with competing priorities. 
Results oriented leader; ability to establish and track KPIs (key performance indicators), measuring, and reporting results. 
Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office applications required and preferred experience with Workday and QuickBase. Knowledge of recruitment CRM systems is highly desired.
