POSITION SUMMARY: The Corporate Counsel – Technology provides advice and counsel with respect to vendor and technology contracts and healthcare regulatory matters. This position is also responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance to the Company’s executives, professionals, and other employees relating to the Company’s business activities.

 

The base pay estimate for this role is $107,700 - $183,100 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on company and individual performance.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

 

• Provides in-house legal counsel to support timely completion of a high volume of complex contracting requests, with an emphasis on vendor and technology agreements.
• Advises on healthcare regulatory issues in connection with contracting processes and business operations.
• Manages vendor agreements across the enterprise including drafting, negotiating, executing, and updating as applicable.
• Oversees all aspects of contract lifecycle management, including proactive management of expirations and renewals through close collaboration with business leaders.
• Assists business leaders with developing and implementing processes, procedures, and systems to promote risk avoidance and prevent litigation.
• Identifies and analyzes legal issues with an understanding of how to appropriately balance risk and the Company’s ability to pursue its business interests.
• Develops and conducts training on various legal topics such as best practices for contract negotiations and prevention of legal disputes.
• Responds promptly to the business while delivering efficient and high-quality legal service.
• Works on a wide range of projects and with Company’s executives, professionals, and other employees at various levels within the organization.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from ABA accredited university and membership in good standing of State Bar.
  • 4+ years legal experience with an emphasis in healthcare regulatory matters as well as complex vendor and technology contract negotiations.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills; practical and effective problem-solving skills; strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills; and the ability to exercise sound judgment, provide commercially focused legal advice, and appropriately consider risks to the Company.
  • Exceptional attention to detail is critical for this role.
  • Candidate must be able to interact effectively and collaboratively with the Company’s executives, professionals, and other employees, as well as with in-house legal colleagues and outside counsel.
  • Work well independently and within a team environment, both in person and virtually.
  • Well-developed level of business experience supporting clients and advising on specialty law matters.
  • Experience with healthcare laws and regulations, strongly preferred.
