POSITION SUMMARY: The Hospital Services Director – Operations provides operational leadership for hospital-based anesthesia services within the Nashville market. This role serves as the primary liaison between USAP physician leadership, hospital administration, and corporate teams to ensure efficient daily operations, strong partner relationships, and alignment between clinical service delivery and organizational objectives. This role is responsible for fostering trusted hospital relationships, improving operational performance, and supporting strategic growth while ensuring anesthesia staffing models align with hospital demand and patient care needs.

 

The base pay estimate for this role is $89,000-$150,000 annually. The final offer will depend on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate. This range is for base pay only and does not include bonuses or other compensation. This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Bonuses are not guaranteed and are awarded based on company and individual performance.

Hospital & Partner Relationship Leadership

  • Serves as the primary operational contact for hospital executives, OR directors, Chief Anesthesiologists, and Lead CRNAs.
  • Builds and maintains trusted, responsive relationships that enable rapid resolution of operational issues.
  • Represents USAP as a collaborative partner while reinforcing contractual expectations and service standards.

 

Operational Oversight

  • Oversees daily operational performance across hospital partnerships, including scheduling workflows, staffing coordination, and provider support.
  • Identifies operational inefficiencies and implements practical solutions to improve throughput, predictability, and patient flow.
  • Monitors operating room utilization trends and collaborates with hospital partners on block utilization and efficiency initiatives.

 

Anesthesia Staffing Alignment

  • Collaborates with physician leaders and scheduling teams to align anesthesia staffing models with surgical demand.
  • Supports analysis and optimization of block schedules, add-on volume, and daily staffing needs.
  • Escalates staffing risks and capacity constraints to leadership with recommended solutions.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partners with finance, HR, compliance, credentialing, and analytics teams to ensure operational accuracy, regulatory adherence, and effective reporting.
  • Supports onboarding and credentialing coordination for providers across hospital facilities.
  • Collaborates with data analytics teams to translate operational data into actionable insights.

 

Strategic & Growth Support

  • Supports strategic planning and growth initiatives, including new hospital relationships and service expansions.
  • Assists in operational readiness planning for new contracts and evolving service models.
  • Contributes to responses for hospital inquiries, proposals, and performance reviews.

 

Culture & Leadership

  • Fosters a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and service excellence.
  • Supports physician and clinical leadership in maintaining positive hospital relationships.
  • Mentors operational staff and contributes to leadership development efforts.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or operations.
  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience directing a team.
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare, surgery, or physician services experience.
  • Strong project management and change leadership experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
