POSITION SUMMARY: The Director – Business Development – AOC is an individual contributor role responsible for increasing AOC sales growth in Anesthesia specialties. This individual will focus on lead generation and contract negotiations to introduce new clients to our organization. Daily engagement with healthcare executives to position AOC’s value proposition will be key to success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

 

  • Responsible for developing new client agreements and job orders.
  • Prospects via phone, text, email & social media, focusing on identifying anesthesia staffing needs and job openings with potential and existing clients.
  • Reaches achievable sales and production goals set by the leadership team and managed through the AOC sales, calling, and account plan using our Bullhorn CRM.
  • Collaborates with AOC account management and recruitment peers to develop new sales opportunities.
  • Partners with Account Executives to create strategies to land and expand accounts.
  • Works closely with legal and operational teams to finalize agreements.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure a smooth transfer from sales to operations and maintains client satisfaction through onboarding.
  • Leverages tools such as ZoomInfo, Outreach, LinkedIn & more.
  • Manages activity and metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Represents the company at industry conferences and networking events to promote brand visibility and foster business relationships.
  • Stays current on market trends, competitor strategies, and locum tenens staffing demands to refine sales approaches.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of prior relevant experience required in healthcare staffing sales.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding annual sales targets.
  • Deep understanding of hospital procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate our value proposition and skills to navigate sales to executive-level decision makers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage hundreds of accounts and contacts.
  • Experience and success with cold calling/prospecting; understanding of what it’s like to manage a successful sales funnel.
  • Experience working in a modern technology-driven, data-centric environment.
  • Curiosity, persistence, coachability, and a sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated, competitive, and goal-oriented, with a high degree of accountability in an independent, remote work environment.
  • Growth mindset and drive to see a developing organization win.
