The IT Data Warehouse Quality Assurance Intern would be responsible for the development of testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and SQL validation scripts to support testing of data integration solutions.

 

** This is 6 month, remote, part-time paid internship ideal for students pursuing their Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems or a related field. There may be occasional travel to our Dallas office.

 

Job Highlights

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

 

  • Works with internal business units, analysts, and key stakeholders to understand the requirements to provide required testing support in terms of data validation, data analysis, defect management and test results documentation.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business Information Systems or equivalent degree with relevant experience required.
  • Should be able to work without visa sponsorship.
  • Domain knowledge of Healthcare Industry preferred.
  • Experience with Data Warehouse or Data bases testing using SQL to query, create tables, views, indexes, joins, user defined functions and stored procedures.
  • Knowledge of facts and dimension tables, star, and snowflake schemas.
  • Knowledge of testing Power BI and SSRS Reports or similar BI solutions.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, MS Azure, or other similar DB platforms.
  • Knowledge about Azure DevOps preferred.
  • Experience working with Agile Methodology preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent data analysis skills.
  • Excellent defect management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a quick-paced environment that may include changing priorities.
  • Ability to trouble shoot data quality issues and identify root causes.
