The Total Rewards Specialist will serve as a temporary support of the Total Rewards Team, to assist with Open Enrollment, acquisition administrative support through year-end. This role will report to the Director of Benefits during tenure and will serve as an additional point of contact for internal team processes related to benefits and compensation. This is a fully remote role, Monday - Friday, estimated 25 hours per week through the end of the calendar year. 

 

 

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

  • Serves as support for USAP Benefits related to Open Enrollment initiatives.
  • Supports opportunities on Open Enrollment guidelines, data, testing and ticket response with internal teams during the pre-enrollment, enrollment and post-enrollment stages to ensure accuracy and completion prior to 12/31/25.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information which may include auditing reports.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data which will include benefit reporting, enrollment audits, and dependent eligibility documentation.
  • Assists the Director with questions or processes regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Works with Director and Benefit team to help enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process: updating benefits guide, creating and reviewing communication materials, testing enrollment configuration within Workday, auditing files, answering employee questions, etc.
  • May assist the Director with benefit support during acquisition processes to include report creation, comparison and carrier template population to ensure plan enrollment for effective “go live” date.
  • Strong customer service skills to provide support to employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years Human Resources and/or Benefits experience OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and Power point preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience and/or Shared Services center background preferred.
  • Skilled in benefit plans procedures and processes.
  • Ability to understand and deal with regional issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and computer skills, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities, strong time management.
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize information in a concise manner and to make recommendations on strategies to resolve issues.
  • Benefits subject matter expertise in the areas of medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, time off plans, disability, and voluntary benefits.
