The Associate Software Developer’s primary role is in supporting the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and automations.  The developer will work closely with the Software Architect and Platform Automation Manager to support various programming and scripting languages that are deployed throughout various environments both in Azure as well as in a traditional datacenter.  The position will also require growth into various DevOps areas as well to support both teams.  This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for coding, a willingness to learn, and is looking to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

 

  • Assists in developing and maintaining web or mobile applications.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining automations and scripts across various languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Writes clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under supervision.
  • Participates in code reviews and contributes to team knowledge sharing.
  • Debugs and troubleshoots software and script issues. Assists in performing root cause analysis in complex applications.
  • Collaborates with designers, developers, and product managers to implement new features.
  • Tests and deploys applications, scripts and cloud-based technologies.
  • Stays updated with emerging trends and technologies. Stays current with industry standards by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques; participates in educational opportunities; reads professional publications.
  • Protects operations and maintains HIPAA compliance by keeping information confidential and working within specific guidelines.
  • Collaborates respectfully with other team members.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSAs):

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an appropriate field of study and 1+ years of experience as a software developer
  • 1+ years of experience performing Root Cause Analysis and other troubleshooting methodologies.
  • General understanding of Well Architected Frameworks.
  • 1+ year of experience with functional, imperative and object-¬oriented languages (knowledge of C# and Java is preferred).
  • 6 months+ experience with scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with Cloud based microservices (knowledge of Microsoft Azure is preferred).
  • Experience coding, testing, and documenting complex systems.
  • Ability to use version control software such as GIT.
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates, and meet production deadlines.
  • Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.
  • Experience with unit test methodologies.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • 1+ years of experience with SQL Server or Azure SQL.
  • 6 months+ year experience working with Azure DevOps as a code repository\task tracking and leveraging automated tests, CI builds and release pipelines.
  • The ability to work efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ability to apply the Azure Well Architected Framework to all design, troubleshooting and deployments.
  • The ability to learn quickly across various technologies and programming languages.
  • The ability to work through complex problems in a structured manner.
  • Work in an Agile software development environment and work within a Scrum team.
