The Vice President of Operations (VPO) is responsible for managing the hands-on operational aspects within a platform.  Through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by Leadership and the objectives of company, the VPO provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. This is a hybrid role that will travel between our Fort Meyers and Naples, FL offices 4 days/week.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

 

  • Provides leadership and management to a large physician practice management organization / MSO.
  • Oversight and direction for strategic planning and execution necessary to surpass revenue, profitability, cash flow, business goals and objectives throughout the company’s operations.
  • Provides highest level of responsibility for effectiveness of internal and external processes for a division within the platform.
  • Oversees development of timely, accurate and complete reports on operating condition of the company.
  • Oversight of management teams for billing, collections, credentialing, information technology and scheduling.
  • Leads development, communication and implementation of growth strategies and processes.
  • Develops and maintains infrastructure of operating systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate organizational growth.
  • Attracts, recruits, retains, motivates, and leads management team.
  • Mentors team; responsible for career development.
  • Helps foster a success-oriented, accountable company culture.
  • Responsible for evaluating, selecting, implementing, enhancing, and expanding new practice management systems to service more providers.
  • Oversees compliance auditing (patient records and billing practices) in conjunction with Corporate Compliance / Risk Management.
  • Develops and maintains understanding of Financial Reporting and operation of assigned divisions, including presentations and communications with physicians.
  • Develops and maintains full understanding of hospital Anesthesia department operations.
  • Key participant in developing responses to RFP’s and presenting proposals.
  • Works in conjunction with Leadership to develop new business, grow current business and expand business lines.
  • Represents the organization with customers, shareholders, and business partners.
  • Travel requirement: 25-30%

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):

  • Master’s Degree in business preferred, healthcare administration or relevant field, and a minimum seven (7) years of healthcare management experience in an integrated hospital delivery system or large medical group of $100+ million revenues including extensive: or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience Accounts Receivable management, budgeting and resource planning in an automated accounting, billing environment or a similar environment with progression of increasing responsibilities.
  • Minimum four (4) years experience managing healthcare operation staff.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, billing, collections, banking/ finance and/or process management.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively with physicians, all staff members, and external customers. Must have a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level for diverse personalities.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong personal computer skills including mastery of Microsoft Office products and data base programs.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects, accustomed to tight deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with presentations to senior management, boards, community groups, physicians, and staff.
  • Self motivated; ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to integrate and harmonize diversified functions.
  • Understanding, influencing, and serving others are importing attributes of this position.
  • Must be able to select, develop, and motivate people, and create a positive work environment.
  • Excellent judgment and high-level decision - making skills; able to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
