    The Supervisor will provide support to a team of schedulers. This person will act as the “go to” person for questions and issues. This includes but is not limited to; lead a team in the preparation of daily, nightly, weekend and quarterly assignments, responsible for assigning Providers to surgical or other procedures in various hospital, ambulatory and clinic settings, responsible for the Provider/s meetings and vacation schedules, while maintaining a professional demeanor with scheduling team, facilities, surgeons, patients and providers to ensure highest quality of care.

     

     

    Our Maryland MSO office conveinently located in Columbia, MD is looking to add a Full time Scheduling Supervisor to our team!

    Responsibilities

    • 3-5 years of Medical Scheduling experience. 
    • Ability to perform every task independently. Can set schedule, run the day, enter/review cases, and talk to providers, surgeons, patients, and facilities without help from supervisor/manager.
    • Complete daily summaries and check outs independently.
    • Communicate to manager or physician liaison if short on manpower or if issues arise when making the schedule.
    • Performs call trades and swaps for providers independently.
    • Understanding of policies and procedures. Ability to explain rules and procedures to anyone who asks.
    • Maintain master meeting calendar.
    • Maintain providers call information for accounting.
    • Maintain providers vacation tracking information for accounting.
    • Create and manage the holiday call schedule.
    • Train all new scheduling employees as assigned by the Scheduling Manager/Director.
    • Participate and train new employees on the quarterly schedule. Help maintain team-lists, and call equalization reports. Ensure quarterly scheduling document is up to date.
    • Able to assist with various reports daily.
    • Maintain physician preferences and surgeon information in scheduling software and shares this information with the department.
    • Write and maintain scheduling policies and procedures.
    • Communicate with scheduling chair, CGB, scheduling director and operations as needed.
    • Maintains all department documents.
    • Other tasks as assigned by management.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    • All qualifications of Scheduler I-III
    • Extensive knowledge of scheduling policies and procedures.
    • Ability to lead and train new employees.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong team coaching and development skills
    • Critical thinking and analysis skills.
    • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work shifts varying daily from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

    • Ability to effectively communicate with various providers, including anesthesiologists, surgeons, CRNAs, and hospital staff, in a calm and polite manner regardless of the situation.
