    The Accounting Intern will assist in activities with respect to our Accounting functions and healthcare operations in a variety of ways.  A successful Intern would be a self-starter, quick learner, and be able to adapt.  Ideal candidates would thrive in a high volume, fast-paced organization and be able to multi-task and collaborate.  This position is in Dallas, Texas and will work on various projects primarily in the Accounting and Accounts Payable Departments. You will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you gain in business school to real-life situations. This position is part-time (24 hours per week) and seasonal (Spring, Summer, Fall). Successful completion of the Internship may lead to an extension of the Internship or an entry level role based on current Company openings and availability.

    Responsibilities

    • High level of proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
    • Able to quickly learn new technology in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing priorities and responsibilities.
    • Demonstrated professionalism.
    • Demonstrated attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Consistent, regular, punctual attendance as scheduled.
    • Reviews source documentation and verifies proper coding in accordance with US GAAP.
    • File source documentation as needed electronically.
    • Perform account reconciliations.
    • Pull electronic source documentation as needed for internal and external audits.
    • Responds to financial inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Prepares financial schedules and support internal and external audits.
    • Assist Accounting Management by assembling and presenting any requested information necessary for the preparation of monthly financial statements.
    • Ability to meet deadlines.
    • Willingness to help in all areas where needed.
    • Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    • Pursuing BS/BA or MS in Accounting (currently in Senior or final year of degree)
