    Leads of number of EDW Developers on the data team in the design, and development of solutions for USAP.  Directs EDW/Data Team developers in developing and enhancing USAP ETLs for new and existing regions.  Leads the design and development process for certain EDW and Data projects.  Is skilled and experienced in BI Design and Development and leading and coaching developers.  Experienced in SSIS, SSRS, Power BI and SQL in the delivery of BI solutions. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  Creativity in problem solving and strong verbal/written communication skills will be leveraged in this role.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with software developments, project management and QA team members to provide comprehensive solutions to USAP.
    • Works with business users and Business Analysts to understand requirements, develop solutions and communicate to the broader organization
    • Work with external vendors/consultants on specific EDW projects and new technology initiatives when necessary.
    • Assists the Sr EDW Architect in the ongoing upgrade and enhancement of the USAP EDW including licensing, versions, hardware capacity, and ongoing performance
    • Assists in developing best practices, policies, and procedures to ensure quality and consistency of EDW ETLs and reports
    • Assists in the optimization of the EDW and Data Marts    
    • Leads projects to design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and outside sources and acquisitions; as well as ensure data is verified and quality is checked
    • Design and implement ETL processes and data architecture to ensure proper functioning of analytics including Power BI and other BI tools, reporting environments and dashboards
    • Identify training and coaching opportunities for developers on their team
    • Perform and assist in the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models
    • Participates as required in the project efforts to develop the next generation USAP EDW and Data Marts

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required with major/concentration in relevant information technology area (CS, MIS, CIS or CE).
    • MS or MBA a plus
    • Ten or more years of experience in IT or related field
    • Seven years or more experience performing data warehouse development and three plus years of leading other developers / management
    • Experience in re-architecting existing EDWs
    • Extensive experience with technologies such as SQL Server, SSIS and stored procedures
    • Extensive experience developing, testing, administering RDBMS, and monitoring of database
    • High proficiency in dimensional modeling techniques and their application
    • Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment and work with both technical and business personnel
    • Significant experience in working with business analysts and business users to define requirements, develop solutions and communicate to the broader organization
    • Several years working experience with some of the following: Power BI, Tableau, and other reporting and analytical tools is a plus
    • Significant experience with Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform is a plus
