    USAP-ATX is in search of a highly motivated Anesthesia Technician to join a skilled team of technicians at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin Texas. This is a full-time daytime Anesthesia Tech Position with full USAP Benefits.  The normal hours required are Monday through Friday 0630-1500, with a required 4th or 5th weekend on call requirement.  Weekend call usually includes 6-7 hrs worked at overtime (1-1/2) salary, with remaining hours beeper call from home.  This position requires previous Anesthesia Technician experience, with appropriate Cardiac Surgical anesthesia case experience. (Adult or Pediatric). We offer a competitive benefits package including PTO, Health/ Dental insurance and 401k plan.

    Responsibilities

    Anesthesia Technician Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Adhere to all USAP time and attendance policies
    2. Communicate with all MD and CRNA institution site chiefs.
    3. Follow all institution specific policies and procedures
    4. Assist the MD Anesthesiologists and CRNA with critical anesthesia patient care including:
    1. Pediatric and Adult Open Heart Anesthesia Care
    2. Arterial line and Central Line placement utilizing appropriate sterile technique
    3. Assist the physicians with epidural and other regional blocks as needed.
    4. Assist the physicians and CRNAs with Spinal Instrumentation and Neurosurgical anesthesia care.
    5. Actively assist with Pediatric Trauma care.
    6. Pro-actively anticipate anesthesia patient care needs for USAP MDs and CRNAs
    7. Maintain professional conduct and behavior at all times
    8. Be able to order and maintain daily inventory of supplies necessary for anesthesia patient care
    9. Able to rotate and provide anesthesia support to other USAP Anesthesia sites as needed
    10. Able to troubleshoot all technical aspects of the anesthesia machines,technical equipment and anesthesia gases.
    11. Appropriately evaluate and obtain new anesthesia equipment and be able to in-service other Anesthesia techs, MDs and CRNAs as needed.
    12. Responsible for maintaining all anesthesia department documentation standards required for JACHO certification
    13. Maintain all anesthesia related infection control policies and related documentation, including annual competency of endoscopic scope cleaning and disinfection procedures
    14. Be able to complete all time and attendance documentation required for USAP anesthesia technician 
    15. Other duties as assigned and designated by the USAP Site Chief MD and Chief CRNA.
    16. This is a full-time position 40 hr/week, and will include an additional requirement for weekend call, of at least per (8 hours in-house/16 hour beeper call from home). This is shared call with other techs, and usually performed on either a single Saturday or Sunday two days per month.
    17. This is an full-time salaried position that includes USAP designated PTO (Sick and Vacation) time and full time health benefits.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Maintain an active BCLS Heartsaver certification

     

    Adhere to all JACHO required credentialing needs for the institution where working
