    This position is at the corporate level. The HRIS Director would be a corporate resource that would serve as the subject matter expert for the Human Resources Information System. This position will have a knowledge base of Human Resources practices and information technology. This position will serve as the subject matter for data architecture.  Responsible for analyzing and directing all functional related activities within the scope of the Human Resources Management System. 


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):


    • Serve as the primary contact for HRIS Technical Support
    • Serve as a main point of contact between Human Resources (HR), HR Systems vendor, Benefits, Payroll, and IT
    • Coordinate scheduled project meetings with internal team members to ensure all outstanding questions, issues and tasks have been properly communicated and addressed in a timely manner
    • Set the overall direction of the HRIS system. Directs the HR information strategy and determines scope of HRIS system by consulting with human resources, executives, controller and other management to ascertain organizational needs for payroll, benefits, and human resources related information
    • Direct HR information management budgeting, strategic and tactical planning, business process re-engineering, and database system strategy
    • Oversee planning and implementation of HRIS system changes; designs system specifications and works with HRIS vendor programmers to develop, enhance and/or modify the HRIS system
    • Document all modifications
    • Prepares progress reports to inform management of project status and deviation from goals
    • Responsible for working with internal management to ensure that internal reporting needs are being met by creating a calendar/schedule of organization reporting needs
    • Oversees testing of system for upgrades, conversion of data onto HRIS (in the case of acquiring new divisions and programs), and implementation of new system upgrades and interfaces with other systems and locations
    • Monitors HRIS system and all interfaces to ensure they function properly
    • Responsible for the creation of custom reports or working with HRIS vendor in the creation of such reports
    • Serve as first level support for HR/Payroll staff with data and system related issues. If escalation is required work with HRIS vendor’s Technical Support to resolve issues
    • Serve as Project Manager for system upgrades and implementations
    • Work with other departments within the organization to utilize the HRIS data throughout the organization
    • Develop and maintain best practices documentation
    • Analyze areas for business process improvement in relation to the use and keeping of HR Data
    • Conduct internal training with staff, which has been determined to require additional training, on system enhancements and version upgrades
    • Serve as HRIS Administrator, which includes updating of code tables, benefit plans, attendance plans, Organization codes, and System Security
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    • Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical users
    • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and initiate change
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including board, public and staff presentations
    • Superior personal computer skills including mastery of Microsoft Office products and data base programs
    • Well organized, capable of juggling multiple projects and accustomed to tight deadlines
    • Skilled in gathering, summarizing and reporting information to senior management
    • Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and external customers
    • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and service-oriented disposition
    • Excellent analytical, judgment and decision-making skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Excellent technical writing skills for development, implementation and maintenance of documentation


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
    • Networking certification a plus
    • Human Resource certification a plus
    • Previous experience as an HRIS Manager
    • Minimum 5-8 years of experience as a systems administrator
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in analysis and development of computer software and new software implementation.
    • Experience in human resources and healthcare a plus
