    The Financial Systems Analyst works as a liaison between the Information Technology and Finance/Accounting functions to understand business requirements and ensure configurations properly function to meet business needs across the organization.  The successful candidate brings a strong accounting background which informs an understanding of how financial accounting processes and internal controls can be enhanced through strategic use of technology. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with process improvement, problem solving and analysis, project management, strong communication skills and an ability to learn new systems. 

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

     

    • Support the design, planning, testing, growth, evaluation and daily functional needs of US Anesthesia Partners’ (USAP) financial planning & analysis system.
    • Support integration of any future ERP systems. Guide improvement efforts, implementations, and upgrades as needed. Collaborate across departments to ensure the system runs smoothly and proper security access is designed appropriately and granted in accordance with protocols.
    • Evaluate and propose implementation of new financial system modules that will allow USAP to become more efficient and agile in its financial planning, analysis and month-end close processes.
    • Configuration and continuous improvement of current and future reporting tools. Support financial systems improvement efforts, implementations, and upgrades as needed. Assist with leading super user group to ensure the entire USAP footprint is properly trained and engaged in how to use the system.
    • Support proper integration of any future ERP systems, including Workday. Guide improvement efforts, implementations, and upgrades as needed. Collaborates across departments to ensure the system runs smoothly and proper security access is granted.
    • Obtain input and feedback on system needs from appropriate parties; interact with support team and leadership to resolve issues; conduct or obtain evaluations of system performance and makes modifications or adjustments as necessary. Provides input for roadmap of how USAP will utilize current and future systems to ensure the organization can conduct financial planning and analysis efficiently and accurately, both now and in the future.
    • Ensure that data output, which includes actual and plan data, from financial systems is accurate and troubleshoot variances and inaccuracies as needed.
    • Tests new systems, patches, and upgrades for functionality and coordinate user training.
    • Develop processes to reconcile third party software integrations to core accounting systems.
    • Provide education, support and guidance to staff at all levels in the use of the system, create training tools and conduct workshops. Provide individual assistance and “on-call” support as well.  Act as project team member for system upgrades and participates in user acceptance testing associated with such upgrades. Manages projects and timelines in conjunction with IT as required.
    • Other duties as assigned by management

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and work with advanced Excel functions and macros.
    • Advanced knowledge of accounting practices and general ledger accounting.
    • Experience with business intelligence or data analytics tools and concepts.
    • Detail-oriented with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience reconciling data and performing integrations across multiple platforms.
    • Experience with database management and data governance protocols.
    • Experience implementing new ERP system and/or managing major system upgrades preferred
    • Workday, Concur, Navision and/or Exponent HR experience preferred
    • Experience transitioning manual processes to system-driven workflow preferred

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or technical school, preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Information Technology, Statistics, or equivalent.  Master’s degree preferred.
    • 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience using Workday or another ERP. 
    • 7+ years of related experience, including ERP implementation preferred.
