    The Manager of Training is responsible for initiating, planning, monitoring and managing risks and issues related to delivering learning projects that support the success of USAP’s business platform. The Manager of Training supports USAP’s leading business position by designing, planning, and executing innovative projects that drive the learning and development of colleagues in each platform. The Manager of Training will lead complex programs and multiple projects at one time.

     

    Daily activities involve interaction with a wide variety of individuals within USAP. The position should influence positive behavior in others by serving as a role model in critical areas of human interaction, teamwork and leadership. This position is expected to work effectively with all employees, i.e. management and frontline staff, to promote effective learning opportunities that support the achievement of organizational goals and to foster a work environment that demonstrates respect and understanding for diversity. They will also lead knowledge management processes and analytics to support USAP’s knowledge source. They will lead the learning and knowledge analytics reporting and processes.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

    • Work with the functional team leads and SMEs to translate business requirements and metrics into training needs; including conducting needs analyses, developing learning objectives, scope, audience, timing, delivery method, and resources needed to fulfill training needs within budget and timeline requirements
    • Work with the functional team leads and SMEs to determine need for certifications, credentialing, CEUs and any other professional certifications needed by employee groups; plan achievement of those certifications using appropriate observation or electronic mechanism
    • Apply instructional design and adult learning theory to manage the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of assigned training programs, which may include instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, e-learning and/or blended learning programs
    • Conduct onsite training as required to proactively or reactively address certain operational performance improvements needs
    • Research software and vendors which can improve USAP’s learning and development program that is consistent with company values, mission, strategic initiatives, and financial position
    • Lead vendor Request for Proposal, selection, and Service Level Agreement efforts, along with LMS administrator; establishes and manages vendor relationships
    • Manage the definition, collection, and roll-up of program metrics; measure and evaluate the effectiveness and achievement of objectives and alignment with business priorities
    • Create and publish development standards, processes, and templates to produce consistent, quality instructional materials
    • Understand learning & development processes and the impact on the development and delivery of training
    • Designs various before, during, and after learning measurement activities and works with human resources, managers, and associates to ensure knowledge and skills are transferred to the job
    • Where appropriate, ensure that training activities include performance metrics that identify return on investment (ROI)
    • Other duties as assigned by management

    JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

    • Knowledge of current training, assessment and organization development models and methodologies in a healthcare setting.
    • Familiarity with Talent Management Systems.
    • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
    • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
    • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and create a collaborative environment
    • Ability to sell programs and concepts to key stakeholders
    • Knowledge of office procedures and billing
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to aid in the production and deliverance quality training programs
    • Excellent technical writing skills for development, implementation and maintenance of documentation
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, training or related field required; Graduate degree preferred.
    • 3-6 years’ experience in training, learning & development environment
    • 2-3 years management experience in a large organization; healthcare preferred
    • Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of databases and Learning Management Systems (LMS) required
    • Affiliation with professional organizations (i.e., ATD, IACET), is a plus
