    This position manages a number of practices and will report to the Director, Accounting Shared Services, and could have 2-6 people reporting to them. They will be required to meet monthly deadlines and a variety of accounting activities including: general ledger maintenance, prepares recurring journal entries, prepares balance sheet reconciliations, records accruals, maintains accrued liability rollforward, chart of accounts review, fixed asset subledger, year-end audit field work & PBCs (‘prepared by client’ schedules for PwC Audit).    

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Review and posts recurring journal entries.
    • Maintains a thorough understanding of USAP’s financial information systems, including Navision & Blackline, and possesses the ability to run financial reports and make inquiries for data.
    • Reviews work completed by their team including all reconciliations.
    • Handles confidential material on a regular basis and is responsible for protecting the confidentiality of such information.
    • Organizes own work schedule and establishes priorities for the completion of projects within guidelines from management.
    • Review accruals & reserves, including Concur transactions.
    • Review and ensure the I/C accounts are fully reconciled.
    • Perform review and approve balance sheet accounts within Blackline platform.
    • Review and approves USAP partner share.
    • Be involved in project work and other work where needed.
    • Ensure that relationships are built with the other managers and work as a team to problem solve.
    • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
    • Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures.
    • Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. 
    • Report information systems security problems.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Must possess analytical abilities, including the ability to identify issues, problems, and solutions.
    • Must possess mathematical aptitude, including the ability to build formulas for performing analysis.
    • Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
    • Must possess the ability to work independently and under deadlines, demonstrating solid professional judgment.
    • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and systems preferred.
    • Knowledge of office management practices and accounting procedures.
    • Strong computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word.
    • Skill in verbal and written communication.
    • Skill in gathering and reporting information.
    • Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians, auditors, valuation teams and external customers.

    Qualifications

    Education/Licensing/Certification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
    • CPA a plus

     

    Experience:

    • 8-10 plus years of accounting experience with a bachelor’s degree required. 
    • Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
    • Shared service or corporate accounting experiences a plus.
    • Proficient PC skills, specifically in Excel (VLOOKUP’s, etc.), are required.
    • Reviewing and Posting journal entries and reconciliation of I/C accounts.
