Coordinates and delivers the analysis of the USAP business processes and determines the best logical data structures, business rules and validations to apply to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to provide USAP with an optimal reporting environment for its Revenue Cycle Management, Financial, Operational, Quality and other business functions. Works with business stakeholders of all levels to understand USAP business process and translate that into the required additions and enhancements to the EDW and derivative DataMarts that support reporting to the operational and functional areas of USAP. This key role of EDW Business Analyst (BA) requires experience in a healthcare provider or payor focused business in particular around the processing of revenue for the provider or claims for the payor. The EDW BA will work closely with revenue cycle management (RCM) business users as well as Finance and Quality USAP employees. In addition, as part of the USAP Data Team, the EDW BA works with the Senior Data Architect, Project Managers, DBAs, Developers and QA to implement authorized changes to the USAP EDW. The EDW BA also participates in the new USAP region/office integration projects by understanding integration requirements and assisting in determining the mapping of attributes between the acquired company’s legacy systems and the EDW. Relies on strong healthcare knowledge and proven analyst skills to accomplish goals. Creativity in problem solving and strong verbal/written communication skills will be leveraged in this role.



  • Drives improvements in the Enterprise Data Warehouse for the benefit of all USAP EDW users.
  • Through input from one or more business stakeholders, defines valuable reports/dashboards that can be leveraged across the USAP business.
  • Leads the discussion with USAP RCM, Finance, Quality and Operations to identify valuable enhancements to the EDW. These enhancements may be new/modified data attributes, new/modified business rules or corrections to the EDW ETLs.
  • Documents requested enhancements and works with the Senior Architect and DBAs to design a solution.
  • A key member of the Integration team for new offices and regions within USAP.
  • Extensive experience working with SQL Server Data Warehouses and developing SQL queries via reports and adhoc systems.
  • Experience with PowerBI a plus.
  • Work with the other members of the Data Team to implement the recommended EDW enhancements.
  • Assist in the QA process by providing a pre-End User Review to ensure that the enhancements meet the intended goals.
  • Creates Training documentation and delivers training to USAP IT personnel and potentially the USAP business users.


  • Seven to ten years or more of experience in business analysis in a healthcare provider or payor organization.  
  • Seven years or more experience working with IT and business users to define enhancements and upgrades to their information systems
  • Three plus years experience in designing business solutions within a healthcare IT systems, preferably within a RCM or Claims system.
  • Three plus years involved in testing and rolling out feature enhancements in healthcare information systems.
  • Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment and work with both technical and business personnel
  • Significant experience in working with business users to define requirements, develop solutions and communicate to the broader organization
