Responsibilities

The Training and Education Manager collaborates with training leadership in all regions to design, development, and maintenance of a training program for RCM (Accounts Receivable, Charge Entry, Demographics and Payment Posting) employees to ensure ongoing development and growth.

Develops strategic plans on how to implement the learning and development programs and ensure employee satisfaction. Identifies the core competencies and objectives of the organization and strives to inculcate this into training program. Analyzes training needs, develops curriculum and delivers courses. Collaborates with RCM Production leadership to prioritize learning needs and meet them effectively through a variety of adult-learning methods. Oversees regional training leadership in other divisions.

  • Manages the development, design and overall implementation of new and ongoing development initiatives and training programs
  • Planning, organizing, and directing management and training programs for employees to increase individual and organizational performance as well as improve employee morale and enhance employee skills
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with all managers system wide
  • Create overall or individualized training and development plans that address needs and expectations to meet our organization’s mission
  • Develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Works with management and conducts surveys to identify training needs based on processes, changes, and other factors
  • Propose training and development programs and objectives to leadership for consideration
  • Modify or create course materials and training manuals to meet specific training needs
  • Management of training support team
  • Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Conduct and present training sessions
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR staff
  • Monitor training strategy, goals objectives and associated staff performance for each area in order to evaluate opportunities for production and quality improvement
  • Lead and participate in department and team meetings
  • Direct and implement ongoing programs for staff development
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results
  • Support Training Specialist(s) with coordinating training schedules and evaluate applicable outside training resources
  • Support Training Specialist(s) with coordinating and leading training for new RCM employees
  • Re-train existing employees, as needed
  • Ensure all training records are current and properly maintained
  • Assist in development and implementation of education programs based on processing pathway documentation
  • Provide follow up review of current process based on policy changes and work with training team to implement those changes
  • Remain familiar with all aspects of RCM process including all related systems, processes, and daily batch requirements across USAP
  • Facilitate process improvement work groups using proven methodologies like Six-sigma
  • Review and analyze production KPI’s to drive recommendations for areas of improvement
  • Analyze workflow and/or procedures to assist departments with reengineering processes and optimizing applications
  • Maintain increasing knowledge of applications involved with correlating departments
  • Provide metrics to measure process improvement initiatives both from an efficiency and sustainability perspective
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality
  • Other duties, as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Five to seven years of Healthcare industry experience required, particularly in Anesthesia and/or Pain practices.
  • Regular travel required (up to 15%).
  • Knowledge of Medical Collections, Medical Billing, and/or Pain Medical Office.
  • Three to five years of training experience preferred. Preferably in a healthcare or billing setting.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Power Point, Word and Excel or similar programs required
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching
  • Must possess  sufficient  eye-hand  coordination/manual  dexterity  to  operate  a  keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment
  • Required normal  range  of  hearing  and  eyesight  to  record,  prepare,  and  communicate appropriate reports and evaluations.
  • Requires lifting papers and boxes weighing up to 35 pounds occasionally
  • Requires dexterity to type at least 35 wpm.
