POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor of PrePay and Charge Corrections oversees the PrePay and Charge Corrections teams and their daily activities. All new hires must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.



  1. Leads daily huddles with team.
  2. Works to resolve outstanding items within department and interdepartmentally.
  3. Communicates and escalates opportunities within the team to leadership.
  4. Monitors daily productivity of team members and holds them accountable.
  5. Identify and resolve barriers utilizing analytical trends.
  6. Supports and provides training for all staff members.
  7. Encourages employees to improve their skills and to expand their expertise.
  8. Delegate work as necessary.
  9. Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

REPORTING TO THIS POSITION:         Charge Correction and PrePay Teams (typically 4-5 employees)




JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Is familiar with the batch process
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation guidelines and billing standards
  • In-depth knowledge of patient accounting systems and the ability to adapt prior knowledge to current software
  • In-depth knowledge of financial class setup and payer setup
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians, and external customers
  • Must have strong keyboard skills with knowledge of MS Office products
  • Must have a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level for diverse views and opinions
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to motivate diverse personalities within the departments 


  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.       Bachelor’s degree in a business or health related field preferred.
  • Must have at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Must have 5-7 years of experience in medical billing.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in an anesthesia or clinical pain setting, but related medical experience will be considered.
