POSITION SUMMARY:   The Regional Director of IT serves as the head of technology services for the business operations of the platform. This person reports to the Vice President of IT Applications with dotted line reporting responsibilities to the Senior Vice President of Operations of the platform.   This position may manage a team of up to four employees along with consulting resources as required. The regional director of IT services will have direct accountability to the development, deployment, and maintenance of technology assets and services that support the operations and will serve as a business partner to the functional leaders of the business.



  • Coordinate requirements gathering, feedback and coaching on new technology solutions for the platform.
  • Acts as local IT leadership for the role out of new solutions and is a regional escalation point.
  • Manage and coordinates all new and existing infrastructure projects to meet company needs.
  • Responsible for the overall effectiveness of data center technology systems and operations to ensure high levels of user satisfaction and availability.
  • Work with software development team(s) to provide appropriate production, user acceptance testing, and development environments.
  • Manage IT help desk, desktop support, and system administrator teams. Provide issue escalation support.
  • Work with external vendors/consultants on specific infrastructure projects and new technology initiatives when necessary.
  • Manage software licensing (MS, Symantec, VMWare, etc. ), hardware maintenance and IT service provider (Data, PRIs) contracts.
  • Support datacenter technologies throughout their lifecycles including: Microsoft Server OSes and Enterprise Applications (Exchange, Active Directory, MSSQL, file and print services, etc.), VMWare ESXi, Cisco ASA and switches, Netapp SANs, Avaya PBX, Rightfax, and AVST Voicemail platform. 
  • Ensure the security and recoverability of company systems and data.
  • Manage system capacities and performance; provide recommendations for upgrades/improvement.
  • Liaise between all Corporate IT departments and the regional users to represent regional perspectives and needs.
  • Works with the development scrum master to groom and prioritize the request backlog for regional bugs, enhancements, and requests.
  • This position requires a highly intelligent, analytical individual who is a self-starter and can work effectively in a situation where priorities change.
  • This person needs to be an independent person and sound decision maker, who knows when to seek supervisor input. It must be someone who thrives in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
  • This person must have a sense of urgency and be results oriented.
  • This person must be able to build strong relationships with physician partners and business leaders across the organization and engender trust.
  • This person needs to be able to confront difficult issues and work towards the right answer even if the decision is not the popular choice.

  • An undergraduate degree in information technology or relevant related field.
  • This position requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manage technology assets and services within a large, matrixed, multi-location business.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating, procuring, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure components such as datacenters, enterprise applications, TCP/IP networks, telephony systems, SANs, servers, laptops, and desktops.
  • Three plus years in a business application IT leadership role working with business users and serving as requirements, escalation and training contact.
  • Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, or other technical certification desired.
  • Experience in utilizing and maintaining MS Azure cloud environments.
  • Previous work experience in the healthcare services industry is preferred.
