POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees business and strategic initiatives for the coding compliance services, provider coding education and coding processes for the region. Initiates strategy and development with coding operations to support regional coding accuracy for all payors, promotes best practices and education in all areas related to coding compliance. Partners with other executives and key stakeholders on coding compliance and education. Designs and builds systems for annual coding compliance workplan and oversees implementation. Models USAP Core Values and leadership essentials to lead and build a highly effective region, team and employees that will provide best in class coding consultation with certified coders, coding educators, physicians, advance clinical practitioners, and physician network leadership.  Coaches and mentors leaders that oversee teams having direct management support with talent, performance and leader management.



  • Serves as the primary executive for the region to develop the strategic direction for coding and education compliance.
  • Serves as the primary, day-to-day company interface with revenue cycle leaders to facilitate the successful adoption and implementation of coding, education initiatives.
  • Able to maintain collaborative coding, education and revenue cycle opportunities that exist for USAP and customers to work together as a single system within functions; fluidly balances the role of “subject matter expert”, “facilitator” and “politician.”
  • Maintains coding, education process improvements and provides experience-based guidance and support to other leaders regarding work functions, including but not limited to facility, operations, coding, health information management, account follow-up, patient access and patient financial services, as well as other revenue cycle interaction.
  • Familiar with various coding, education and revenue cycle dashboards and benchmarking tools; specific knowledge of coding, education performance indicators and trends.
  • Demonstrates excellent people leadership skills; directly supervises regional leaders with a focus on performance metrics, tangible results, clear and inspirational communication.
  • Provides strategic guidance and analysis, balances the short-term perspective required to meet aggressive quarterly and annual goals.
  • Manages and responsible for regional P&L, working knowledge of operational budgets, financial modeling, revenue cycle metrics.
  • Develops and establishes broad scale, long term business objectives, goals and projects.
  • Drives innovation for regional economic performance through formal and informal channels.
  • Positions the value proposition of USAP coding and education programs and services within the region and across other regions.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, technical writing skills for development, implementation and maintenance of documentation and presenting to executives
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Medical Field and practices preferred
  • Knowledge of Windows, Power Point, Word and Excel or similar programs required
