This position reports to the Pain division in the regional office located in Maitland, Florida.
The Insurance Precertification Specialist is responsible for insurance verification, precertification and obtaining authorizations prior to patient appointments. This includes using automatic eligibility process, various payer websites, and contacting patients for additional information. This position is responsible for verifying and updating existing insurance and demographic in the Practice Management System. In addition, this position enters insurance and demographic information prior to new patient visits. One year of Insurance Eligibility/Precertification experience in physician office required. Ideal candidate will have experience in precertification in a specialty practice and/or surgical filed & the ability to work in a high volume/fast paced environment while maintaining accuracy. Knowledge of insurances (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare Replacement Plans, etc) and working knowledge of the various insurance websites. The ability to focus and work quickly is critical in order to meet daily deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
