We are actively recruiting a Certified Coder to be based at our Seattle, Washington office located near the Swedish Hospital First Hill Campus . The ideal candidate for this position will be highly proficient in anesthesia coding with a solid understanding of the entire billing workflow. This position will perform all types of coding functions and will have the opportunity to assist in other areas of our medical billing department.


USAP – Washington is the largest majority physician owned anesthesia group in the Northwest consisting of over 90 physicians and 15 CRNA’s. We provide high quality anesthesia services to renowned Swedish Medical Center, as well as prominent outpatient surgery centers in the Seattle-Issaquah area.   • Reviews CPT, ICD-9, ASA and HCPCS coding on charge tickets.
  • Reviews anesthesia records for supporting documentation for charge tickets.
  • Reviews medical records for supporting documentation for charge tickets.
  • May require sending back to the providers for additional information.
  • Review all incomplete or inaccurate charge tickets that are sent back from the billers for additional information and make necessary corrections.
  • Identify cosmetic and/or prepaid cases and ensure two tickets are created, one for insurance and one for patient responsibility.
  • Deliver coded charts to assigned box for delivery to billing department
  • Assist Billing and AR Department as needed


High School graduate or equivalent.

CCS- P or CPC professional certification is required.

Minimum of three (3) years coding experience in a healthcare business office is preferred.

Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ASA and HCPCS coding.

Background in Medical Terminology required.
