Overview

We are actively recruiting a Certified Coder to be based at our Greenwood Village office. The ideal candidate for this position will be highly proficient in anesthesia coding with a solid understanding of the entire billing workflow. This position will performs all types of coding functions and will have the opportunity to assist in other areas of our medical billing department.

 

Over 75 practice management experts and operational support staff serve our growing and well-respected anesthesia practice which consists of over 200 anesthesiologists, 45 CRNA’s and 14 CAA’s. Our clinical staff members provide care at 10 hospitals and over 15 surgery centers located throughout the Denver metro area.

 

U.S. Anesthesia Partners - Colorado is a physician-led practice and part of U.S. Anesthesia Partners (USAP) which is the largest single-specialty anesthesia practice in the country with over 3,000 team members.

In addition, our integration as USAP-Colorado has allowed us to further build out our service delivery model so that as the facilities we serve require more complex and coordinated anesthesia services, we can support them. This will maintain the important relationships in place with surgeons and facilities to ensure clinical consistency and a continued high level of patient care.

Responsibilities

 

  • Reviews CPT, ICD-9, ASA and HCPCS coding on charge tickets.
  • Reviews anesthesia records for supporting documentation for charge tickets.
  • Reviews medical records for supporting documentation for charge tickets.
  • May require sending back to the providers for additional information.
  • Review all incomplete or inaccurate charge tickets that are sent back from the billers for additional information and make necessary corrections.
  • Identify cosmetic and/or prepaid cases and ensure two tickets are created, one for insurance and one for patient responsibility.
  • Deliver coded charts to assigned box for delivery to billing department
  • Assist Billing and AR Department as needed

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent.

CCS- P or CPC professional certification is required.

Minimum of three (3) years coding experience in a healthcare business office is preferred.

Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ASA and HCPCS coding.

Background in Medical Terminology required.
