POSITION SUMMARY:   The Process Improvement Analyst position focuses on improving process efficiencies throughout the entire revenue cycle management (RCM) life cycle. This should be accomplished through a focus on process reengineering and defect reduction while maintaining billing compliance requirements. This position will require a high degree of collaboration with all levels of management, peers and operations, to facilitate the creation of a culture focused on a high quality and highly efficient production environment.




  • Produce process improvement analysis data and reports based on process maps, quality issues and collaborations (brainstorming) to present to RCM leadership.
  • Identify specific department training needs and opportunities for process improvement based on identified break downs in existing defined process.
  • Development and maintenance of all operational process / pathways documentation.
  • Assist in development and implementation of education programs based on process / pathways documentation.
  • Provide follow up review of current process based on policy changes and work with training team to implement those changes.
  • Be familiar with all aspects of RCM process including all related systems, processes, and daily batch requirements across USAP.
  • Facilitate process improvement work groups using proven methodologies like Six-sigma.
  • Review and analyze production KPI’s to drive recommendations for areas of improvement.
  • Analyze workflow and/or procedures to assist departments with reengineering processes and optimizing applications.
  • Maintain increasing knowledge of applications involved with correlating departments.
  • Provide metrics to measure process improvement initiatives both from an efficiency and sustainability perspective.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or health related field is required (extensive experience in healthcare and/or process improvement may be substituted).
  • Must have minimum of 4 years billing or collections experience in the health care field.
  • Process and Quality Improvement methodology (like Six-sigma) experience is preferred.
  • Experience in coaching and/or teaching is preferred.
