At US Anesthesia Partners of Nevada (USAP-NV), a distinguished team of physicians provide anesthesia services at facilities throughout Las Vegas and Henderson.  Our team is dedicated to using clinical best practices while helping to facilitate the delivery of consistent, high quality services for patients, surgeons, facilities and payers. USAP-NV has a patient-centered approach to care with a focus on continuous quality improvement. 

 

We are currently searching for a Manager of Anesthesia Collections to join our team.  The Manager of Anesthesia Collections will work closely with the Director for Revenue Cycle Management to manage and evaluate the effectiveness of collection process, make recommendations for change and help drive business goals to meet overall company objectives.

Responsibilities

Some of the essential functions of this role include the following:

 

  • Review collection reports to ascertain status of collection and balance outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures
  • Participates in identification, development and implementation of systems to improve efficiency in the registration process.
  • Researches and resolves problems to establish and preserve an efficient revenue cycle.
  • Responsible for mentoring Team Leader’s and developing their overall skills as Team Leads. Also, provide direction and assistance to Team Leaders in running the day-to-day operations of the department
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels in the department and interviewing job applicants
  • Perform and/or oversee the reviews on adjustments and collections
  • Monitor the percentages of aged accounts
  • Effectively monitor how accounts are worked and how the collection department staff communicates (both written and oral) with patients, payors, surgical offices and our physicians
  • Participate in Special Projects required by Director(s) of Operations
  • Mentor employees, conduct performance evaluations, counsel and provide disciplinary actions to assigned personnel, and works to facilitate individual and team development that drives positive results.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of Collections experience in a Healthcare environment.  Three years of supervisory experience required.  Computer experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent application
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must possess good organizational skills
  • Possess advanced mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure with effectiveness, flexibility, courtesy and tact.
  • Skill in gathering and reporting information and analyzing outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with staff, physicians and external customers.
  • Must have a pleasant disposition and high tolerance level
  • Ability to motivate diverse personalities
  • Should be oriented and sensitive to patients' needs and aware of the importance of confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA
  • Strong working knowledge of Collection Policies and Procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and TWCC Guidelines
  • Thorough understanding of managed care contracts
  • General understanding of the functions of other CBO departments
  • Must have strong keyboard skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, the MSI patient accounting system and the Compass 21 (TexMedNet) system
  • Knowledge of all aspects of anesthesia and pain billing. (i.e.: anesthesia calculation, reimbursement, etc)
  • Communicate well with the public
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
