Medical Billing Coder

Welcome to JLR Medical Group!  We are one of Florida’s largest anesthesia practices and a founding clinical partner of U.S. Anesthesia Partners (USAP), a national anesthesia-focused physician services organization.  We currently have an opportunity for a Certified Medical Coder to join our dynamic team in Maitland, FL.  

Summary of Position:

As part of a team, the Medical Coder performs all coding and accompanying documentation functions for the practice and may assist in other areas of the billing department as needed. The position is fulltime, Monday - Friday.

Requirements include:

  • AAPC Certification required.
  • E & M coding experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, ASA and HCPCS coding.
  • Must be thorough and possess attention to detail skills.
  • Minimum of three years related experience within a healthcare organization is preferred.

Knowledge of CPT, ICD 9/10, ASA and HCPCS coding

Knowledge of all payer rules and regulations

Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy

Ability to multi-task

Computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Excellent verbal and written communcation skills, gathering and reporting information

Work well with other and have a pleasant dispositin and be a team player

Work independently

Ability to read, write and speak English


High School graduate, Associate degree preferred

Current AAPC or CCS or CCS-P certification required 

2 year coding experience
