The Charge Entry Specialist will be responsible for validating and entering accurate information into our billing system.


Medical Data Entry Specialists use a computer to validate and enter accurate patient demographics and insurance information into the corporate billing system. This position also involves prepping and scanning of medical reports and research to obtain demographic and insurance information. All functions must be performed with confidence, accuracy and in a timely manner. This position is critical to quality for the patient and medical providers. Department is a fast paced environment that requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task at times.



  • Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly
  • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with a high accuracy rate
  • Ability to identify missing or incorrect insurance and demographic information received from hospital and clinic and work to resolve discrepancies
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to decipher various forms of handwriting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Maintains composure while working under pressure
  • Reflects good judgment at all times when determining what action to take when resolving problems Adheres to safety and compliance policies and procedures
  • Must be detail-minded with independent work habits

  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • One to two years previous medical data and/or charge entry experience a plus Skills, such as experience in data entry, high attention to detail, and focus on quality are a must
