The Director of Finance is responsible for directing and overseeing the financial activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the healthcare industry. Include preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. This position provides leadership, oversight, guidance and overall management of the Finance Department, which includes developing and improving operational goals of department, staffing, training, development of staff. This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite) at the Dallas office.

Job Highlights

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation)

 

  • Develops regular financial reporting and analysis outputs, including key metrics reports, and conducts ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Oversees all aspects of revenue stewardship on P&L, including monthly accruals entries, RCM analytics, and budgeting & forecasting requirements
  • Prioritizes outstanding AR initiatives for aging stipend revenue
  • Provides ongoing financial modeling and analysis expertise to business partners.   Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
  • Reviews reports to analyze projections of revenue and profit against actual figures, and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate.
  • Regularly meets with senior management and division leaders to coordinate and prioritize planning initiatives
  • Provides analytics assistance during contract negotiations, such as stipend considerations and staffing requirements
  • Ensures timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist senior management in performing their responsibilities.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization and with senior management as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
  • Provides technical financial advice and knowledge to others.
  • Develops Finance team goals that are aligned with the company goals.
  • Continuous improvement of financial analysis tools, including revamping processes and implementing automated systems

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field
  • MBA or CPA preferred, but not required with relevant experience
  • Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Experience in financial software, office systems (i.e. Microsoft Office, SQL, PowerBI, major ERP systems, etc).
  • Ability to work and present analysis and recommendations to executive leadership, as needed.
