The Medical Billing Specialist will work with Insurance companies and patients to ensure correct medical billing and collection. USAP – Washington is the largest majority physician owned anesthesia group in the Northwest consisting of over 90 physicians and 15 CRNA’s. We provide high quality anesthesia services to renowned Swedish Medical Center, as well as prominent outpatient surgery centers in the Seattle-Issaquah area. U.S. Anesthesia Partners – Washington is also part of U.S. Anesthesia Partners (USAP) which is the largest single-specialty anesthesia practice in the country with over 3,000 team members. 


  • Responsible for Insurance and Patient payment posting
  • Provides customer service to patients inquiring about their patient statements
  • Prompt response to e-mail and telephone calls
  • Set up and maintain patient payment plans
  • Determines required reimbursement, and follows up to make sure payments were made in accordance to policy or negotiated contract
  • Discuss medical claims with insurance companies
  • Makes appropriate adjustments to patient accounts in accordance with policies
  • Assists Billing team as required or assigned


  • Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong analytic, oral, written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment
  • Strong skills with computer software systems; experience with EPIC/GE Centricity a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word
  • Accounts Receivable management a plus
  • Payer Management experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Ability to function in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Familiarity with health insurance and other third party billing practices and guidelines a plus
